Last Sunday found me in Las Vegas at the World Tea / Healthy Beverage Expo attending Michael McGuffin’s lecture on”Marketing Teas as Dietary Supplements vs Foods.” McGuffin, the Exective Director of the American Herbal Products Association, is extremely knowledgeable and his lectures are always an excellent and enjoyable source of valuable information. No kidding, I drove 1,000 miles and stayed overnight in BARSTOW just to hear Michael. And was glad I did.
After the lecture, I walked the Expo to see the latest new tea products and innovative healthy beverages hitting the market. By far the juiciest new products were the TeaPops made by DeeBees Organic Frozen Treats. I found myself circling back again and again, begging for another sample, to try another flavor, then another flavor… TeaPops come in 5 flavors: CherryBerry, MangoTango, Mint-a-Licious, Tea-Ña Colada, and Classic Iced Tea. My favorite was CherryBerry – at only 30 calories each and sweetened by natural agave, I indulged in several!
You can enjoy TeaPops and feed them to your kids without fear. TeaPops were inspired by Dr. Dionne Laslo-Baker and her two young sons, who loved both frozen treats and tea. Their idea was to make a combination embracing organic fruit, natural flavors and various teas, sweetened with the earth’s natural sweetener, agave. Dionne kept at it until she had perfected a series of TeaPops loved by her sons and their friends and families. The more Dionne and her surgeon husband Stephen researched tea, the more they were impressed by the multitude of health benefits available from tea. Visit the website to learn more at specialteafoods.com and definitely plug your local retailer to stock TeaPops.
Visiting DeeBee’s websight to check some facts for this blog, I learned that DeeBee’s TeaPops WON Best New Product for 2013 from the World Tea Expo. Writing this makes me long for a CherryBerry right now!
