Crila Today: Tradition & Efficacy

The forests of Vietnam sustain an astonishing wealth of botanical diversity. The rest of the world is only beginning to discover this treasure. One Vietnamese botanical is at the forefront of increased awareness: Crinum latifolium L var. crilae Tram & Khanh.

For over a century, the leaves of this plant have been brewed as a strong tea, valued for its ability to support a healthy immune system, virility and hormonal wellness for both women and men. The herb was extremely rare though. Historic Vietnamese practitioners were only allowed to recommend Crinum to the royal family. For that reason, it became known as The King’s Herb or The Royal Woman’s Herb.*

It was strange that one botanical source could provide such a variety of effects for both men and women. Traditional practitioners believed that Crinum latifolium L var. crilae Tram & Khanh would promote long life, virility and fertility, and often recommended it with great success for

Ground-breaking research and development began in 1990.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tram and her European research teams began by identifying at least 12 different sub-species of Crinum latifolium L that grow in the wild and look interchangeable unless you are an expert. Some are useless when it comes to providing healthful benefits while others contain toxic properties or compounds harmful to male sexual health. Dr. Tram correctly identified the one plant from the wild she chose to develop, and began the time consuming process of learning how to domesticate, propagate, harvest and process these plants. Over time, through natural propagation, she learned how to maximize the beneficial properties in her plants. Dr. Tram has identified the key alkaloids with beneficial properties to leave in her extraction and the undesirable compounds to take out.

These unique plants, which are now registered and named Crinum latifolium L var. crilae Tram & Khanh, have been the subject of continuous research since 1990. Sophisticated testing conducted at an American laboratory has verified the complex DNA sequencing contained in these plants. Further research conducted by the University of Illinois Chicago, College of Pharmacy, under a grant from the NIH confirms the Crila made from Dr. Tram's Crinum latifolium L var. crilae Tram & Khanh is Estrogen Free. The unique Crinum latifolium L var. crilae Tram & Khanh used in Crila is the only Crinum that has been clinically proven safe and effective by clinical and pre-clinical testing conducted by the Ministry of Health of Vietnam, and the European and American scientific studies listed under our Research tab.
