PCRI’s annual conference during National Prostate Health Awareness month is said to be the largest medical conference in America which is targeted to the information needs of the patient. Doctors, researchers and medical professionals from across the country meet to share with the audience, and each other, their latest insights on prostate problems (abbreviated as CaP in medical terminology). For example. in discussing a specific pharmaceutical, Dr. Moyad learned for the first time that Dr. Mark Scholz takes this drug himself, because he believes it may have some effect to prevent CaP. Stay tuned to future blogs to learn what it was. Over the coming days, I will share with you some of the information and opinions expressed at the conference. Overall, I was impressed with the caring and conscientious approach to a serious subject – which included humor and acknowledged both the mistakes and miracles that occur in the Art of Medicine.
Sessions included smaller workshops and support group meetings for those Newly Diagnosed with Prostate problems, information on Active Surveillance, and developments for treating Advanced Disease. Although highly technical at times, the presenters were easy to understand. All sessions included a Question and Answer format to respond to the most pressing concerns of the 900 men and women in the audience, discussing issues such as frequent urination. The conference organizers PCRI, and the hosts Dr. Mark Scholz and Dr. Mark A Moyad, are clear to say that no medical advice can be provided to individuals from this information, and men must consult with their medical professional about their specific circumstances – that applies to anyone reading this blog as well.
Who does read this blog? I’d like to know. So courtesy of Dr. Moyad and PCRI, this week while supplies last, Crila Health is offering our readers a free copy of Dr. Moyad’s book “Promoting Wellness: Beyond Hormone Therapy – Options for Prostate Cancer Patients”*. No purchase of Crila® for Prostate is necessary to receive your free copy of the book. Just write to email@example.com, give me your address anywhere in the U.S. and request your copy.
