World Bank Features Crila® Prostate Herb Scientist

The World Bank in Hanoi presented findings on Wednesday from the Vietnam Inclusive Innovation Project. The day-long symposium brought together Diplomats, Ministers, and 500 businesses. Dr. Tram was the first of 3 business leaders featured to share how their successful innovation of new technology has contributed to Vietnam’s development and created a positive impact on poverty alleviation. Wow – and you thought Crila^® was just a bottle of herbal capsules you hope will give you some relief. Yes, it’s that, but much more.   

Dr. Tram formed her company to produce new medicinal herbal products from botanically authenticated Vietnamese herbs based on innovative research and technology developed by scientists from within the company, research institutes, or universities. Since 1990, she has focused principally on the R&D of her unique cultivar, Crinum latifolium L var crilae Tram & Khanh. She previously received a national award for excellence due to the scientific and technological achievement in her development of Crila^® from her special plants, but there’s much more to the story. 

In the process, Dr. Tram and her company has driven innovation in 3 key areas: cultivation technology, extraction technology, and formulation technology. In producing Crila^® she brought to market an estrogen free medicinal herbal product to maintain uterine health, promote a healthy menopause, and to maintain prostate health. 1. Cultivation technology – Dr. Tram grows 100% of the key herb to make Crila^® inhouse.  Her plantations provide a stable source of supply. (In fact, there is no other source for this key plant.) No pesticides or chemicals are allowed. Dr. Tram’s innovative cultivation technique includes her development of a proprietary organic fertilizer. She identifies the optimal time to harvest when the bioactive content of the plants are at their peak.
2. Extraction technology – It’s not just about what’s in the plants, but also what to leave out. Dr. Tram not only knows the key compounds necessary to give you her clinically proven results, but she’s also identified and eliminated impurities and substances with undesirable effects. Among others, these include a certain alkaloid naturally present in many varieties of Crinum latifolium L which can have a negative effect on male sexual activity. (We sometimes get asked what differentiates Crila^® from other Crinum products. For one thing, we know exactly what’s in our product. Do they know what’s in theirs?)
3. Formulation technology. Dr. Tram was the first to go from the traditional use of a handful of dried leaves to modern concentrated capsules. She also established critical potency benchmarks for her products. The standardized extraction potency is right there on our label for you to see.

Where does the poverty alleviation come in? Dr. Tram’s plantation employs farmers who used to grow low income crops such as corn, potato, and cassava. Now her farmers grow high quality medicinal herbs. This provides the farmers with an income several times higher than the average rural farmer, improving their lives in a very meaningful way, and contributing to poverty reduction.
